Object-centric Neuronal Representations
Across Biological and Artificial Vision Systems
Workshop

April 1, 2025 | COSYNE 2025 | Mont Tremblant, Canada

Object-centric representations are fundamental to primate visual processing, but the universality of these representations across animal species and artificial vision systems remains unclear. This workshop convenes researchers investigating object-centric visual processing across diverse biological and artificial systems to uncover potential universal principles. Presentations will encompass studies on neural mechanisms underlying object recognition in arthropods, rodents, non-human primates, and humans, as well as recent developments in computer vision models. By facilitating cross-species and cross-domain comparisons, we aim to elucidate universal principles and species-specific variations in object-centric visual representations.
